MARIPHIL Children’s Village Atong Pinuy-Anan is a joint project, which was founded in collaboration between the German association Hilfsprojekt MARIPHIL e.V. and the Philippine association Aid-Project MARIPHIL, the City of Panabo and the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
MARIPHIL Children’s Village is acknowledged by Philippine law and it is accredited as a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). It started up in 2012 after several years of planning and preparation.
An organization requires a team that is passionate about their job and puts a lot of effort into making sure it is successful. We at MARIPHIL Children’s Village have such a team, which consists of people who combine both social commitment and dedication to the work with street children. The manager Shyanne H. Bacalso is the head of MARIPHIL Children’s Village. She is supported by other vital organs in the Children’s Village. Only with a professional collaboration between social workers, psychologists, nurses, teachers, house-mamas, interns etc. it is possible for MARIPHIL Children’s Village to induce a long-lasting change for street children in the Philippines.
The running costs of the Children’s Village are mainly financed with private donations and subsidies from the City of Panabo. The successful cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development enabled the coverage of further investments. At this point we want to cordially thank all the supporters of the MARIPHIL Children’s Village. A special emphasis has to be put on the financial support of the City of Panabo, which contributes a substantial amount of help to the Children’s Village.
